Messi Named Best 2012 Footballer

FC Barcelona striker Lionel Messi (Argentina) has been named the 2012 top footballer in Spain, a poll conducted by the Marca daily says.

The 25-year-old player set a record with 50 goals in a single league season and 91 in a single calendar year.

Second comes Portugal’s Cristiano Ronaldo of “Real”. Radamel Falcao, who plays for Madrid`s “Atletico”, is ranked third.
