NY Sees May Day In With “Occupy” Protests
By VOR
Activists of the Occupy Wall Street movement have staged rallies outside banks in New York to mark May Day.
The participants say their aim, which they believe is shared by 99% of the Americans, is to ‘paralyze the life of the rich’.
Demonstrators have called for nation-wide May Day strikes to protest economic inequality and political corruption.
The ‘Occupy’ protests first broke out in September of 2011 in New York to spread to other US cities and some European countries.
The ‘Occupy’ activists protest against unemployment and ‘financial terrorism’ and say the wealthy have to pay higher taxes.
