UK: MI-5 Reportedly Thwarts Olympics Attack

British intelligence services have learned about plans by a Norwegian Muslim, trained in Yemen, to launch a terrorist attack on American aircraft during the Olympic Games in London.

According to the British newspaper the “Sunday Times”, a Norwegian, who calls himself Abu Abdulrakhmanov and who converted to Islam in 2008, declared that he had prepared an operation to seize an American aircraft.

Earlier, John Evans, the head of the British security service Military Intelligence 5 (MI5), said that “the Olympic venues in London would not be easy targets.”

According to him, “recently the British intelligence services have foiled many attempted terrorist attacks inside the country and abroad.”
