Iran Says Saudi Membership In UN Human Rights Council Is Reward For Crimes In Yemen

By

Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Bahram Ghasemi said Saudi Arabia is being rewarded for his terrible crimes in Yemen, through membership in the Human Rights Council.

Pointing to the claims made by US Vice Admiral Kevin Donegan, Ghasemi said “such false claims arises while arms manufacturers, warmongers and merchants of death continue selling lethal weapons to Saudi Arabia, despite objections and protests of human societies and NGOs.

Donegan claimed they believe Iran has supplied weapons to the Houthis in Yemen — including coastal defense cruise missiles.

“Daily, countless US deadly weapons, bombs and missiles lands on defenseless and oppressed civilians in schools, hospitals, prisons and houses in Yemen by Saudi coalition; It is named nothing but war crimes,” Ghasemi noted.

In recent days, Ghasemi said, people in the world have seen an increase and escalation of brutal attacks of Saudi Arabia on Yemen’s civilians; they continue their terrible crimes with the support of some powers and even more regrettable is rewarding the country for the killing and incineration with the support of its membership in the UN Human Rights Council, “bitter tragedy that will be registered forever as a black stain in the history of mankind,” he concluded.
