Israel Backs Down From Sabre-Rattling

Israeli Defence Minister Ehud Barack has announced that his country is no longer considering military action against Iran.

AFP reports that Barack told Austrian Radio that at the moment there is no urgent need for military action against Iran.

In recent months, Israeli officials, including Ehud Barack, had announced that a military attack on Iran was imminent. Since then, the International Atomic Energy Agency report was released, indicating possible military dimensions to Iran’s nuclear program, which escalated international economic pressure on Iran.

Barack stated that in Israel’s opinion, Iran must not achieve military nuclear capabilities, and it will do everything in its power to stop such a development. He insisted that all options toward this goal are still on the table.

Iran had responded to Israeli threats, saying it will meet any aggression with full force.
