It also included launching a national dialogue between the government and the opposition.

Syria’s Representative to the Arab League, Yousef Ahmad, said during a meeting of the AL Council that the articles of the Arab proposal are stemmed from the “firm principles of the Syrian stance of rejecting violence, prohibiting the shedding of the Syrian blood, adopting national dialogue and supporting reform.”

He stressed that Syria met the Arab effort with a positive attitude.

A rights group, meanwhile, said more than 30 people died in the latest violence, including 15 members of the Syrian security forces who were killed in attacks by army deserters.
