Three Egyptian Policemen Killed In Sinai Ambush
Three Egyptian policemen were killed in an ambush in El-Arish in northern Sinai Peninsula by suspected Islamist militants, announced Egyptian security sources.
The attackers blocked the police vehicle with a truck before opening fire, added the Egyptian authorities. They then raised the black flag of jihad and proclaimed “God is great.”
According to the sources, the attackers fled the scene.
The security chief of North Sinai, Amhed Bakr confirmed the death of three policemen in an attack on Saturday.
Egyptian security forces have been repeatedly targeted by militants in the north of the Peninsula, taking advantage of the security vacuum in this desert area adjacent to the Gaza Strip and Israel.
