Following the announcement by the Egyptian Foreign Ministry on Monday night, welcoming the resumption of diplomatic relations with Iran, Saudi concerns have intensified.

The Egyptian announcement comes after the country’s Foreign Minister Nabil al Arabi said Iran is not considered a hostile state by the Egyptian government. It seems that the warming relations between Cairo and Damascus, Tehran’s closest ally in the region, is a clear indication of Egypt’s new foreign policy.
