Hezbollah Targets Islamic State Position On Lebanese-Syrian Border

By

Hezbollah Sunday targeted an Daesh (Islamic State) bunker along Lebanon’s northeastern border with Syria, media affiliated with the group reported.

The Hezbollah-linked War Media Center said the party’s fighters fired at the militants’ bunker on the outskirts of Ras Baalbek, killing everyone inside.

Thousands of Daesh and Nusra Front militants are believed to be holed up on the outskirts of Arsal and Ras Baalbek.

Hezbollah launched a joint offensive last year with the Syrian army to oust militants from the rugged Qalamoun mountain range along the border.

The Lebanese Army also pounds militant hideouts on a nearly daily basis to prevent them from infiltrating the country.
