U.S. Congressman and Presidential candidate Ron Paul will skip President Obama’s address to a joint session of Congress, according to an article on the Ron Paul website.

Paul campaign spokesman Gary Howard confirmed Wednesday that Paul “doesn’t plan on going” to the address, according to the Ron Paul site.

According to the website, Paul joins other Republicans, including Sens. David Vitter of Louisiana and Jim DeMint of South Carolina, who will also not attend the president’s speech.

The website notes, that Paul has routinely skipped many similar events, including State of the Union addresses by presidents of both parties, believing them to be “a bunch of fluff“.
