South Asian Games: Sri Lanka In Second Place After India

Sri Lanka, with a total medal tally of 87 is in second place after India at the 12th South Asian Games, 2016 in India.

Sri Lanka has bagged 17 gold medals, 37 Silver medals and 33 bronze medals.

Kimiko Raheem of Sri Lanka, won a Gold medal and broke the South Asian Games record in the 200 meters Backstroke event on Day 3 of the 12th South Asian Games.

Matthew Abeysinghe also won Gold in the Men’s 50 metres freestyle event, setting a new South Asian record.

Sri Lanka’s Himasha Eshan won gold medal for men’s 100 meters.

Rumeshika Rathnayake won the gold medal for women’s 100M and Manjula umara won the gold medal for Men’s High jump.
