Abdulmutallab Pleads Guilty To US Airline Bomb Attempt

Umar Farouq Abdulmutallab, the Nigerian man accused of attempting to blow-up a Detroit-bound airliner with explosives hidden in his underwear, pleaded guilty Wednesday on the second day of his trial.

Abdulmutallab, accused of trying to blow up the Northwest Airlines Flight 253 with a bomb on December 25, 2009, told the FBI after his arrest he was working for al-Qaeda in Yemen.

Abdulmutallab told the federal judge on Wednesday he wants to plead guilty to all charges against him that include conspiracy to commit an act of terrorism and attempted murder on an aircraft.
