Judge Napolitano: Obama’s Supreme Court Nominee Is Pro-Government On Big Constitutional Issues – OpEd

Fox News Senior Judicial Analyst and former New Jersey State Judge Andrew Napolitano declared in a Fox News interview today that President Barack Obama’s new Supreme Court nominee Merrick Garland is “almost always on the side of the government” on matters related to several constitutional provisions. This conclusion, Napolitano explains, is based on Napolitano’s initial review of Garland’s activities as a federal judge over the last 19 years.

Napolitano, a Ron Paul Institute Advisory Board member, reports his assessment to host Bill Hemmer as follows:

We have looked at his rulings on the First Amendment — freedom of speech, his rulings on the Fourth Amendment — searches and seizures, his rulings on the relationship between the states and the federal government, and his rulings on whether the courts should defer to the decisions of administrative agencies. Almost always on the side of the government.
