Gaddafi’s Son Arrested; To Be Handed Over To The Hague – Prosecutor
By Ria Novosti
Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi’s son Saif al-Islam will be transported to the Hague International Court on Monday, a prosecutor for the International Criminal Court (ICC) said.
Earlier reports said, that the Libyan leader was arrested as rebels took control most of the country’s capital of Tripoli, but Luis Moreno Ocampo, a chief prosecutor for the International Criminal Court, rejected the reports saying that Gaddafi’s son Saif al-Islam was arrested and would be handed over to the Hague.
An official spokesman for the country’s authorities, Moussa Ibrahim, said that over 1,300 people were killed as rebels entered Tripoli trying to gain control of the country’s capital and putting an end to Gaddafi’s over 40-years rule.
Reuters reported that Gaddafi’s another son, Mohammed, surrendered to rebels.
Fresh clashes between the rebel troops and security forces loyal to Libyan leader Gaddafi erupted on Sunday on the outskirts of Tripoli. The rebels entered the capital from the sea, coming from the city Misrata.
