(RFE/RL) — Russian weekly “Novaya Gazeta” says it is joining forces with whistle-blower site WikiLeaks to expose corruption in Russia.

The Moscow weekly, which is controlled by billionaire Aleksandr Lebedev, said on its website that WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange has material about Russia that haven’t been published yet.

“Novaya Gazeta” has said it will help make them public.

“Novaya Gazeta” is known for its criticism of the Kremlin and investigative reports of Russian affairs.

The weekly says it will start releasing WikiLeaks material in January.

“Novaya Gazeta” correspondent Anna Politkovskaya, who reported about abuses by Russian troops in Chechnya, was shot dead in Moscow in 2006.
