Iran Says Oil Cuts Are Punishing Europe

By

Iran’s decision to cut oil to some European countries is working, says an Iranian official.

Ali Akbar Velayati, Special Advisor to Supreme Leader Aytollah Khamenei on International Relations said on Thursday that the “Iran oil cut punishes European countries,” reports the Iranian state news service IRNA.

Commenting on the decision of the Iranian Oil Ministry to not deliver oil to Britain and France, Velayati said it was a “timely move to penalize them, a reaction to their move to impose an oil embargo on Iran,” IRNA reported.

Velayati added that the oil sanctions are not having any effect on Iranian oil sales as “Iranian oil always has its own customers,” according to IRNA.
