Putin Meets With Members Of Security Council To Discuss Russian-US Ceasefire Accord

Russian President Vladimir Putin met on Wednesday with permanent members of the Security Council to discuss the implementation of the Russian-US agreement on a ceasefire in Syria.

According to the Kremlin, the participants exchanged views, following on from the matters discussed in Putin’s earlier telephone conversations with President of Syria Bashar al-Assad, King of Saudi Arabia Salman bin Abdulaziz al-Saud and President of Iran Hassan Rouhani.

Taking part in the meeting were Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev, Federation Council Speaker Valentina Matviyenko, State Duma Speaker Sergei Naryshkin, Chief of Staff of the Presidential Executive Office Sergei Ivanov, Secretary of the Security Council Nikolai Patrushev, Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, Defence Minister Sergei Shoigu, Director of the Federal Security Service Alexander Bortnikov, Director of the Foreign Intelligence Service Mikhail Fradkov, Deputy Secretary of the Security Council Rashid Nurgaliyev, and permanent member of the Security Council Boris Gryzlov.
