Qatar Announces Death Of Former Ruler Sheikh Khalifa Bin Hamad Al-Thani, 84

Qatar’s Royal Court announced the death Sunday evening of the nation’s former ruler Sheikh Khalifa bin Hamad Al-Thani, age 84.

The Emiri Diwan statement added: “May Allah have mercy on his soul and make his residence paradise, and grant him the best reward for what he achieved to his homeland and nation.”

Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani ordered three days of public mourning across the country.

According to the Qatar News Agency, HH the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani and HH the Father Emir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al-Thani received Monday at the Al Wajba Palace mourners after the passing of the late HH the Grandfather Emir Sheikh Khalifa bin Hamad Al-Thani.

King Salman was received by Emir of Qatar Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani and Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, reported Arab News.
