About 30 people were killed and some 100 wounded in shootings and bombings near Iraq’s capital Baghdad and elsewhere in the country, the Qatar-based broadcaster Al Jazeera quoted officials as saying.

The attacks came as Muslims marked the second day of the Eid al-Adha holiday.

There were two roadside bomb explosions aimed against civilians in the al-Jihad neighborhood southwest of Baghdad, a police source said, in which one person died and six were injured.
