Saudi Arabia, US Aim For Unified Strategy For Syria

Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah and US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton discussed regional and international developments at a reception in the king’s palace in Riyadh on Friday. Ms. Clinton arrived in Riyadh today. Clinton also conveyed greetings of President Barack Obama to the king.

Clinton will attend the first ministerial meeting of the GCC-US Strategic Cooperation Forum, which will discuss a whole range of bilateral and regional issues including security cooperation, as well as the international community’s continuing efforts to stop the bloodshed in Syria.

Minister of Defense Prince Salman, Minister of Foreign Affairs Prince Saud Al-Faisal, Riyadh Gov. Prince Sattam, Chief of the General Intelligence Prince Muqrin, Commander of the National Guard and Minister of State Prince Miteb attended the reception at the king’s palace. US Ambassador to the Kingdom James Smith and Saudi Ambassador to the US Adel Al-Jubeir were also present at the occasion.
