Saudi Foreign Minister Adel Al-Jubeir stressed on Sunday that, although Saudi Arabia and Russia have differences over how to resolve the Syrian conflict, coordination and consultation between the two nations is unaffected.
Speaking to local media, Al-Jubeir highlighted the importance of Russia saying, “Russia is a superpower and an important state and we are keen to build excellent relations with them in various fields.”
The foreign minister went on to say that “Russia respects the principle of sovereignty of states which was confirmed by the kingdom,” and that the two countries have a “great mutual understanding over regional issues topped by the Palestinian cause.”
On the point of ties between the two nations, Al-Jubeir said, “There are several joint projects between KSA and Russia in the fields of oil, energy, and the fight against terror.”
