Belgium: Brussels Police Detain 483 Pacifists

By

Brussels police have arrested 483 pacifists who attempted to storm NATO headquarters Sunday.

Corresponding information was released by law enforcement press secretary Christian de Coninck.

Overall, the “NATO Game over” action was attended by about 500 peace activists from 11 European countries. Police intercepted an attempt by pacifists to climb over the railing around the headquarters to hang padlocks on the doors of the NATO headquarters.

“Let members of the NATO summit in Chicago, in May, know that we are against missile defense plans for Europe, NATO troops in Libya and Afghanistan, and useless nuclear weapons in Europe”, – one of the organizers of the rally told journalists.
