Hamas Condemns Bin Laden Killing

The Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement “Hamas” on Monday condemned the U.S. forces’ killing of al Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden and described him as “Mujahed.” (Jihad worrior).

Ismail Haniyeh the Gaza Strip premier from Hamas said during a meeting with newspaper editors that Hamas considers the killing as a continuation of the U.S. policy to persecute and shed the blood of Muslims and Arabs.

And, although he noted there are differences in approach between al Qaeda and Hamas, he made it clear that Hamas is fully condemning the assassination of Bin Laden.

Regarding another issue, the Prime Minister of Gaza, said his government is ready to provide any help and assistance for the formation of a national Palestinian unity anchored government. Haniyeh stressed the need for restructuring the Palestine Liberation Organization and the formation of a unity government after the signing of a reconciliation agreement between Hamas and Fatah.

Haniyeh confirmed that the delegation of Hamas went to Cairo, carrying in his possession the names of candidates to become the next prime minister and ministers.
