Syria: Tanks Ready To Storm Hama

Syrian tanks have deployed at the entrances to the city of Hama, locals said on Sunday, two days after close to 500,000 people participated in a protest against President Bashar al-Assad.

According to Reuters, a resident of Hama said communication networks had been cut off in the city.

Meanwhile, Turkey’s Disaster and Emergency Management Directorate (AFAD) has announced that some 5,000 of the more than 15,000 Syrian refugees who fled to Turkey have returned to Syria.

According to official data, a total of 15,228 Syrians have sought refugee in Turkey. More than 5,000 of them have returned to Syria of their own volition. Currently, there are 10,227 Syrian refugees in Turkey.
