Giuliani Says “Obama Should Resign Over Benghazi” – OpEd

Any conversation about terrorists and their attacks on the United States and its interests overseas would arguably be an exercise in futility without the input of the man known as America’s Mayor. On Sunday, former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani bluntly stated, “Obama should resign over Benghazi!”

On Sept. 12, 2012, just one day after the terrorists murdered four Americans including the U.S. Ambassador Chris Stevens in Benghazi, Libya, Giuliani did something that the Obama White House and his campaign team refused to do: identify the killings as a terrorist attack.

The former mayor, a top surrogate for Romney’s campaign, argued during several broadcast media appearances, including on Fox News, that the violence at that U.S. consulate — legally considered U.S. soil — would not have happened if Sen. John McCain had won the presidential election in 2008.

“Maybe if we had a president who was paying attention, we wouldn’t be going through all this investigation of what’s being covered up about Libya,” he said.

Guiliani pointed out that the American people now have a chance to ‘right the wrong’ by removing the president from office.

“Giuliani hit the nail on the head when he said a disaster took place, losing the lives of four Americans, and didn’t have to happen if we didn’t have an administration that put the re-election of Barack Obama ahead of national security,” said former Inspector Cheryl Mosely of the U.S. Marshals Service, who worked for Giuliani when he was the U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of New York.

Giuliani pointed out during his appearances on behalf of Mitt Romney that “we now have a chance to right the wrong by removing [Obama] from office.”

According to several former police and intelligence officers who spoke with the Law Enforcement Examiner, since the news of the attack first broke, Obama and his administration misled the American people time and time again.

“First they blamed the ridiculous YouTube video, then they blamed the intelligence community and said they didn’t know about requests for extra security,” said former NYPD detective Sid Franes, who previously served in the U.S. Marines. “But now we know beyond a shadow of a doubt that the administration was notified about the dangers.”

The administration knew al-Qaeda was operating in the same city and they knew that Ambassador Stevens and the rest of the diplomatic team feared for their lives, and their security was inadequate. And yet no action was taken, according to Giuliani.

“This evidence shows as never before, how much of a failure Obama has been on national security! We need a change! We must elect a new commander-in-chief! We can’t risk four more years of security failures under Obama!” said Insp. Mosley.

“As more details come to light regarding what transpired when terrorists attacked the U.S. consulate in Benghazi and murdered U.S. Ambassador Stevens, it is becoming increasingly clear that President Obama is not fit to be Commander-in-Chief. The media is trying to bury this story so it will be up to us to shed light on it!” said Det. Franes, one of the first African-Americans allowed in the U.S. Marines and one of the first blacks to become a New York detective.
