Ukraine: Tymoshenko Refuses Treatment At Government-Offered Hospital

By

(RFE/RL) — Ukraine’s imprisoned former Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko says she refuses to be treated in a government-offered hospital that belongs to the State Railway Administration.

Tymoshenko’s daughter, Yevhenia, read a statement to the press from her mother on April 6 accusing the government of making the hospital a pretend showplace of good treatment when it was not adequate for her medical needs.

Yevhenia Tymoshenko also confirmed that her mother is waiting for the arrival of German doctors from the Charite Clinic and remains in severe pain.

Western doctors who examined Tymoshenko earlier this year found that she suffered debilitating pain from a slipped disk that threatened to lead to other damage if left untreated.
