Iran Fires Back As Canada Cuts Diplomatic Ties

By

Iran has slammed Canada’s decision to close its embassy in Iran, saying it will soon give Canada an appropriate response.

On Friday, Canadian Foreign Affairs Minister John Baird announced that Canada is suspending all diplomatic relations with Iran.

The Canadian Embassy in Iran has been closed and Canadian consular services have been referred to the Turkish embassy, while Iranian diplomats in Ottawa have been given five days to leave the country.

Baird cited Iran’s enmity with Israel, its support of Syria and terrorism as reasons for this decision.

Baird also said that in view of the attack on the British embassy in November 2011, Ottawa is concerned for the safety of Canadian diplomats in Tehran.

Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Ramin Mehmanparast referred to the Canadian move, saying: “One of the results of our successful hosting of the NAM summit in Tehran, despite pressures from Western powers including the governments of the United States and Canada as well as the Zionist regime in trying to convince various states to refrain from attending the meeting, is the dismal failure of these countries to win the diplomatic battle they have been waging against Iran in the public mind and through global media.”

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has commended Canada’s decision to cut off relations with Iran.

Israel is a major ally of Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper’s conservative government, and since the conservatives took power in Canada, Iranian-Canadian relations have progressively declined.

Baird had urged the UN Secretary General to refrain from attending the Non-Aligned Movement summit in Tehran and has defended Israel’s right to a military attack on Iran.

Despite U.S. and Israeli intelligence, which concluded that there is no evidence that Iran has decided to develop nuclear weapons, Harper was quoted as saying on national Canadian television last February that he is convinced that Iran is trying “beyond any doubt” to develop nuclear weapons.

Mehmanparast went on to add: “Clearly the extremist government of Mr. Harper has a history of hostile actions against the Iranian nation and is leading the way in implementing illegal and unilateral sanctions against Iran’s Central Bank and other banks, disrupting consular services to citizens of our country and freezing the accounts of Iranian nationals.”

He added: “These moves reveal that the current Canadian government is sacrificing the interests of the Canadian people by following the policies of certain Western countries and the Zionist regime.”

An advisory against all travel to Iran has been issued by Canada’s Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade, which predicts that the severing of diplomatic relations could result in difficulties for Canadians traveling in Iran.

Ramin Mehmanparast said: “The appropriate response of our country to the hasty and radical action of the Canadian government will soon be announced to our great nation.”

The Canadian government has taken a logical step. It is time for Iran to settle down and act like a civilized nation! The first step should be to apologize to Israel for their previous threats and bellicosity. Iran needs to assure the world that they are a peace-loving nation!

As a Canadian I wish to express my strong disagreement with John Baird’s ideas on Iran.

So far there is NO evidence that Iran is pursuing a nuclear weapons arsenal. Of course they have the “capability” as do Canada Germany, Japan, Ukraine,..&c.

It is more likely that as Iran has had some small (solo) success in circumventing the US$ in its import-export business affairs that this is the REAL reason for USA-Canada hostility. That Western oil interests and the US Fed fear others might follow Iran’s example and thus the US$ would be exposed as ‘fictitious money”; that is a currency with NO real value except that to date they fool the world into pricing oil and other raw resources in “dollars”. In spite of hostility to other alternatives this $ $ charade is wearing thin and will be totally exposed in the near future.

So Canada is only shooting itself, government and people in the foot with this ill conceived move.

US may provoke escalation of situation around Iran – expert. Arayik Sargsyan, academician, President of geopolitical academy. February 07, 2012 | 14:59 YEREVAN. – The U.S. may provoke escalation of situation around Iran, Vice-Chairman of the Russian Geopolitics Problems Academy Arayik Sargsyan said at a press conference on Tuesday. According to him, statements by the U.S. senior officials testify that information war is already in progress. Moreover, Iranian nuclear scientists and experts die, thus terrorist attacks are committed in the territory of the Islamic Republic. The expert believes there can be several scenarios of clashes: Saudi-Arabia-Iran, Turkey-Iran or Israel-Iran. “Will Israel attack Iran? Everyone expects provocations, not necessary in the Strait of Hormuz. It is possible to occur in the territory of the U.S. Something resembling 9/11, as a result Iranian special service will be blamed,” the expert said. As for the question if Azerbaijan will risk taking what it does not possess and launch the second Karabakh campaign, the expert did not rule out such possibility adding that Baku is openly speaking about Iranian territories.http://pravoirk.ru/putin-stavlennik-ssha/

It appears at least the Harper is consistent, consistently wrong about many aspects of freedom and justice in Canada. This step can only be seen as making Canada a lackey of the US and Israel. The Zionists now appear to have control of Canada and the US and perhaps also Australia as we seem to simply follow what ever US does. Sad for the Canadians as they now lost further respect from many people across the world.

It’s no big secret….Iran has been using it’s embassy to plant terror cells in countries not allied with them. Canada did the right thing.
