More Syrians Killed By Security Forces

Syrian security forces on Wednesday killed another six civilians, including a child, a human rights group said. “One civilian has been killed by shooting by the security forces in Barze district of Damascus,” said the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights. Three civilians were killed in the southern Daraa region.

In the central city of Homs — under siege by the military — security forces on Wednesday pursued checks, questioning and arrests in the Khaldiye and Al-Shammas districts, the Observatory said. It added 20 people — eight government troops and 12 civilians — were killed across the country on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, furious Syrian protesters pelted opposition leaders with eggs outside the Arab League headquarters in Cairo in order to prevent them from entering for talks with Arab League Secretary General. The opposition delegation, led by Hassan Abdul Azim, had to retreat. The meeting was postponed because of the incident.
