(RFE/RL) — A bomb has exploded near a bus station in Pakistan’s northwestern tribal area, killing at least 30 members of anti-Taliban militias.

The explosion, likely detonated by remote control, hit vehicles being used by the militias in the Khyber Agency.

Local officials said the explosion happened in the Jamrud area of Khyber.

Local resident Amirullah Khan said he was “sitting in a car and it was about to start when there was a huge blast. The driver was also injured along with me, and many other people were also injured.”

Reports also said more than 25 people were injured.
