Venezuela: Chavez Says ‘In Good Health’ After Recent Treatment

By

Cancer-stricken Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez has said his latest medical tests show he is in good health, Latin American media reported.

Chavez, who has undergone three operations for cancer in the pelvic region and four courses of chemotherapy in Cuba and Venezuela within a year, said on Saturday he had recently taken exams including a CAT scan and an MRI scan as part of scheduled checks.

“Everything turned out absolutely fine,” Chavez told reporters at the presidential palace in Venezuelan capital, Caracas.

“After the [most recent] operation and the radiotherapy, I feel very good,” he said.

There has been much controversy around Chavez’s cancer, but the 57-year-old Venezuelan leader, who has ruled Venezuela for 13 years, is hoping to be re-elected for another six-year presidential term in October.

“I have faith in God, in Christ the Lord, in science and in my will to live so I can continue fighting for this country,” Chavez said.

His only challenger in the upcoming presidential elections is 39-year-old opposition candidate Henrique Capriles.

It has taken the cubans many years to find the correct medicine and procedures that do not break copy right or patent laws established in the uS.They must have found some remedy using linux…hopefully the other parts of the world can later be just as usccessful, even though I do not think the uS actually has a cure for aging yet, or the politicans would definately hide that invention…and swear it was legal to marry their own great great great grandaughters…like they would marry their third cousins.
Glad I am not a politican.
