Yemen: At least three dead in protest
Gunmen loyal to Yemen’s President Ali Abdullah Saleh killed three demonstrators in the southern town of Al-Bayda on Thursday, witnesses said.
Armed men on the roof of the ruling party’s headquarters in Al-Bayda, 210 kilometres southeast of Sanaa, opened fire at protesters who had been tearing-up posters of Saleh, AFP reported. Seven other protesters were wounded.
Meanwhile, Aden governorate witnessed last night angry marches attended by thousands of Yemenis to condemn the killings in the provinces of Sana’a, Taez and Hodeidah.
