Syria: OIC Says Ready To Mediate In Crisis

Prof. Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu, Secretary-General Of The Organization Of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), said Tuesday the OIC is ready to mediate between the Syrian government and opposition in order to reach negotiated settlement to the ongoing crisis.

“Out of keenness on restoring the stability and security in its member state of Syria, the OIC is ready to do its utmost in order to contain the regrettable situation in Syria,” he told reporters.

He voiced profound grief for the escalating violence in Syria, stressing the need to protect the civilian population and respect the human rights there.

Meanwhile, Prof. Ihsanoglu stated opposition foreign interference in the Arab country.
