The International Quartet on the Middle East suggested on Wednesday holding a preparatory meeting between Palestinian and Israeli negotiators ahead of the final status talks.

The call came after separate meetings held by the international mediators, led by the Quartet’s special envoy Tony Blair, with Israeli and Palestinian negotiators in Jerusalem, Israel Radio reported this evening.

The suggested meeting is to discuss the two issues of security and borders.

The international mediators highlighted the need to resume the peace talks between the Palestinians and the Israelis without any preconditions, according to the report.
