Sri Lanka: Air Chief Marshal Kolitha Gunathilaka Appointed Chief Of Defence Staff

President Maithripala Sirisena has appointed Air Chief Marshal Kolitha Gunathilaka as the new Chief of Defence Staff and Air Marshal Gagan Bulathsinhala as the new Air Force Commander.

The President handed over the letters of appointment to the new officers today (15) at the Presidential Secretariat.

Mr. Kolitha Gunathilaka joined the Sri Lanka Air Force as a Cadet Officer in 1980. He received his education from St.Thomas College Bandarawela and Royal College in Colombo. He also has served as the 14th Commander of the Sri Lanka Air Force since 2014.

Mr. Gagan Bulathsinhala joined the Sri Lanka Air Force in 1981 as a Cadet Officer. He received his education from Nalanda College in Colombo. From today he will resume his duties as the 15th Commander of the Sri Lanka Air Force.
