Iraq Government Secures Release Of Three US Citizens Missing Since January

The Iraqi government said it has secured the release of three US citizens who were reported as missing in January.

Following the news, the US State Department issued a statement welcoming the outcome.

“We sincerely appreciate the assistance provided by the Government of Iraq, and its whole-of-government effort to bring about the safe release of these individuals,” said Mark C. Toner, US Deputy Department spokesperson in a statement.

Toner added that, “Specifically, we express our gratitude to the Iraqi Security Forces, and in particular the Ministry of Defense and the Iraqi National Intelligence Service, for their role in achieving this outcome.”
