U.S. authorities have disclosed the name of the soldier, who shot and killed 16 Afghan civilians on the night of March 16th 2012. His name is Robert Bales, he is 38-years-old and a Sergeant.
On Friday, he was transported from Kuwait to the United States, where he will be held in a high security military prison.
