Afghan Shooter Named Robert Bales

U.S. authorities have disclosed the name of the soldier, who shot and killed 16 Afghan civilians on the night of March 16th 2012. His name is Robert Bales, he is 38-years-old and a Sergeant.
On Friday, he was transported from Kuwait to the United States, where he will be held in a high security military prison.
Bales is facing a military tribunal and the death penalty and will be held there during the “pre-trial investigation.”
Until now his name was kept secret until his family, including his wife and two children, were transported to a military base in Washington state.
The federal government provided them with protection due to fears that they might be attacked.
The Taliban Movement in Afghanistan announced its intention to avenge the killing of the 16 civilians, among whose number were nine children.
