By

The Iranian Navy Commander says his forces have captured three U.S. Scan Eagle drones and that the Islamic Republic has now started a production line to make these aircrafts domestically.

IRNA reported on December 17 that Naval chief Ali Fadavai said: “The Scan Eagle that was recently captured by Iranian forces in the Persian Gulf was the third drone captured so far, and the earlier occasions were not announced.”

On December 4, Iran announced that it had captured a U.S. Scan Eagle drone that had entered Iranian airspace.

The U.S. navy denied Iran’s statements at the time, saying no drones in recent missions were missing, but it did add that some might have fallen into the sea in the past.
