In a statement released Friday, Al-Attiyah considered the US move towards this issue is unacceptable, unjustifiable and pours into encouraging the Israeli occupier to violate UN resolutions as well as the international laws which consider settlements and unilateral acts to be illegal.

Al-Attiyah explained that the use of the veto shows the prejudice practiced by the US towards the Palestinian issue, criticizing the US policy which is based on double standards.

He expressed his astonishment at the US position, where Washington speaks on serious efforts to be made in order to bring peace while providing a political cover that enables Israel to continue its aggressive policies in the Palestinian territories.

In the statement, Al-Attiyah stressed the unwavering support towards the Palestinian people against Israeli occupation.

He also stressed the Palestinian people’s right to self-determination and to live in peace within the borders of sovereign and independent Palestine with East Jerusalem as its capital.
