Yemen: Security Forces Arrest Six Al-Qaeda Members


Yemeni security forces arrested six members who belong to Al-Qaeda organization carrying Somali nationalities in Abyan province in the south, a Yemeni Interior Ministry statement said on Monday.

The statement noted that the arrest operation took place during confrontations between government forces and armed men that support Al-Qaeda.

The statement added that the 39th Armory Brigade took charge of transferring the arrested members to police pending further investigation with them.

Last month, the government announced the arrival of 300 fighters from Somalia to Abyan province, an area dominated by Al-Qaeda group supporters
