Yemen: At Least Three Dead In Violence

Yemeni policemen opened fire on demonstrators in Sanaa and Taiz on Tuesday, killing at least three people.

Two people died and some 100 were wounded by bullets when riot police stopped protesters marching towards Sanaa’s main Zubeiri street, near the residence of vice president Abd-Rabbu Mansour Hadi, Reuters said.

Protesters stoned the riot police and set fire to a security vehicle, witnesses said.

Until today, the protests aginst president Ali Saleh in the capital took place around Sanaa University. Meanwhile, at least one protester was shot dead and another wounded in Taiz, south of Sanaa.
