Murdoch Attacked With ‘Foam Pie’ In UK Parliament

By

A man tried to attack News Corporation chief Rupert Murdoch with a “foam pie” during a parliamentary committee hearing into phone hacking allegations on Tuesday.

The BBC said the attacker threw a “plate of shaving foam” at the 80-year-old businessman. His wife, Wendy Deng, is reported to have “landed a right hook” on the attacker, who was arrested.

UK Uncut activist and comedian Jonnie Marbles said on Twitter that he was the attacker. The group campaigns against tax avoidance in the U.K.

“It is a far better thing that I do now than I have ever done before #splat,” he wrote.

Murdoch was not hurt.

The hearing was suspended for ten minutes, but has now resumed.
