Iranian Authorities Ready To Develop Cooperation With IAEA
By Ria Novosti
Iran announced its readiness to develop cooperation with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) if the agency “balances its approach” to the Islamic republic, ISNA news agency reported on Sunday, citing Iranian Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi.
“We are prepared to cooperate with the agency [IAEA] more than ever, if the agency balances its approach and complies with its statutes and the safeguard agreements,” Salehi said.
The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Board of Governors passed on Friday a resolution on Iran. The resolution, which was drafted by a group of international mediators, was passed by a 32-2 vote with one abstention. It was sponsored by the Iran Six, including Russia, the United States, China, Britain, France and Germany. It urges Iran to provide access to its nuclear facilities for UN experts and cooperate with the IAEA.
