Iran: ‘We Pray For Israeli Strike’ Says IRGC Commander

A top commander in the Revolutionary Guards has said that Iran is in possession of a “hidden energy” that will be unleashed in case of a military strike against the country.

Speaking to Iran’s semi-official Fars news agency, General Amir Ali Hajizadeh, chief of the IRGC’s aerospace division, dismissed threats of a military action against the country while adding, “One of our greatest wishes is for them to take such an action, because for some time now, there’s been a hidden energy that we’re eager to unleash in order to consign the enemies of Islam and Muslims to the garbage can of history for the rest of eternity.”

The comments come amidst mounting speculation that recent explosions at an IRGC base were orchestrated by a foreign power. Hajizadeh rejected claims about the involvement a foreign element in the incident.

“They themselves know full well that this incident was a work-related accident. They shouldn’t be too happy about it, because there are many others like martyr Tehrani Moghaddam in the IRGC.”

Revolutionary Guards commander Tehrani Moghadam, who was among the casualties of the blast, had been an important figure in Iran’s ballistic missiles programme.

Some have pointed the figure of blame at Israel.

“It would be desirable if they multiply,” said Israeli defence minister Ehud Barak when commenting on the mysterious explosion that left 17 people killed.

In recent years, a number of Iranian scientists have been assassinated in mysterious car bombings and dozens of IRGC officers have also been killed in various plane crashes.

“Our missile capacity will under no circumstances be halted and will go on forever,” Hajizadeh told Fars.
