Iraq: Blasts In Baghdad Kill Scores

A series of explosions Thursday morning in Baghdad killed over 30 people and wounded dozens more in a coordinated attack. The blasts took place amid a political crisis between Iraq’s Sunni and Shiite factions.

According to the AP, Iraqi officials said at least nine blasts went off early Thursday morning in neighborhoods around the city .The worst attack was in the al-Amal district where at least seven people died in a blast that appeared to target rescuers and officials who came to the scene after a previous explosion. At least four people were killed in one western Baghdad neighborhood when two roadside bombs went off.
