Iran Dismisses US Talks Held In Davos

By

An official dismissed media speculation that the Iranian vice president for strategic affairs has held talks with American representatives during his visit to Switzerland for participation in the annual meeting of the World Economic Forum in Davos.

Former Iranian foreign minister Mohammad Javad Zarif, who currently serves as the Iranian vice president for strategic affairs, is in Davos for the 2025 meeting of the World Economic Forum.

In comments on Wednesday, the director of Zarif’s media office rejected the “baseless rumors” that he had held talks with the US officials in Davos.

“No negotiations whatsoever have taken place in Davos with the US or any other third country in this regard,” the media office director said.

He emphasized that any decision about talks with the US would come within the purview of the top Iranian authorities and would be held within the conventional diplomatic frameworks by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Iran.

This year’s meeting in Davos is held under the theme ‘Collaboration for the Intelligent Age’ and will be oriented around five distinct thematic priorities.

On Wednesday, Zarif will attend a conversation with Fareed Zakaria, organized by the Center for Regions, Trade and Geopolitics.
