Cindy Sheehan: ‘An Open Letter to War Loving (Democratic/Republican) Frauds’ – OpEd

By

Dear War Loving (Democratic or Republican) Fraud,

I know many of you don’t really care, but in exactly 15 days, it will be seven years since my oldest son (whom I never “abandoned” and raised with his father and three siblings until he went into the Army when he was 21), Casey was killed in this Empire’s insane War OF Terror. Was Casey the first, or the last? No — but he was my first and the shock knocked me out of my quiet complacency — which was just as wrong as the Empire’s unending wars.

When I began protesting, Bush was president and my protest and the energy that grew around it was used by you Democrats to regain political power in the federal government. Four years later and a change of Executive, this nation is still mired in Arab countries waging a war against Arabs of all, or no, faith. Now brought to us by the Blue Team.

Three days after the current evil Emperor was installed by the oligarchy, he ordered a drone bombing in Northern Pakistan (a country that we are supposedly not at war with) that killed 36 civilians and since then, he has been absolutely mad about drone bombings, increasing Bush’s total over 300 percent in far fewer years. Even though I never supported Obama who funded wars as a Senator and who is NOT a peace president, I said at the time: “Three days in and already a war criminal.” I was thoroughly attacked by Democrats who once affiliated as “peace” activists for not giving Obama “time.”

Well, Gitmo is still open, military tribunals will resume for men who have been illegally detained for up to a decade now, US Tomahawk missiles are raining down on innocents in Libya (killing people to save them is the NEW PEACE), dictators are still supported, Israel is still occupying and oppressing Palestine, activists are being targeted by Obama’s DOJ while BushCo are being protected, the USA PATRIOT ACT was renewed, the Gulf is dying–and where is the outrage?

This is where I think the outrage is–the oligarchy of this country is clever, they knew that it would take a person of color with an Islamic name who sold his soul many years ago–to fulfill the neocon agenda of planetary dominance (see: Project for a New American Century). So if one criticizes Obama, then we are attacked by War Loving Democrats for being: “divisive fanatics,” “racist,” “Tea Baggers,” “crazy,” etcetera. Could McCain be getting away with bombing North Africa? Or does that take an African-American to give political cover to the war jackals?

Gaddafi with US President Obama
Gaddafi with US President Obama (File Photo)

The last four paragraphs were for War Loving Democrats, Greens and Socialists–yes I have heard from all three groups denouncing me for being against bombing Libyans to save them (same thing BushCo said about Iraqis, by the way–and the very same rhetoric used for Vietnam, etc).

This next part is for war loving Republicans and “Independents,”

What? Are you people morons? First of all, you should be dancing in the streets praising the name of Obama like your comrades in the Democratic Party who hypocritically support his murders. Face it–YOU OVERTLY LOVE WAR–when a Republican is doing it. Admit it, you salivate over killing innocents so those “jihadist” babies won’t crawl over here to cut your throats and make your women wear burkas! How dare you attack me and complain that I don’t protest Obama’s wars, when you should be out supporting him with all of your violent hearts and souls.

Before you write to attack ME for being a hypocrite, I suggest a five minute exercise in “googling.”

If you do that, then you’ll see since before he was even elected, I opposed Obama, while I was running for election in San Francisco AGAINST a Democrat, Nancy (War Lover and Torture Supporter) Pelosi.

You’ll also see that I wrote a book in January of 2009 detailing everything I discovered that was wrong with this Empire and the myths that bind both sides to the establishment. Then you’ll find that I traveled to Martha’s Vineyard in 2009 when the Obamas took a $50,000 per week vacation there to demand a meeting with him to ask him “What Noble Cause?”

But that’s not all, my War Loving Republican “friends.”

In March of 2010, I set up a Peace Camp called Camp Out Now on the lawn of the Washington Monument for two weeks protesting Obama and his wars. Near the end of that Camp, I was arrested in front of the White House and jailed for 52 hours, then given a four month “stay away” order from the White House–does this sound like someone who supports, or is supported by the Obama regime?

Not being one to abandon my principles so quickly, I went back in July for two weeks to try and do the same thing.

I have protested the regime’s drone bombing campaign in front of CIA HQ in Langley, Va AND at the Smithsonian Institute where the harbingers of massacre are proudly displayed–I even traveled to Oslo, Norway to protest his awardence of the Nobel Peace Prize.

So, War Lovers on the “right”–hate me if you will, but hate me because I am diametrically opposed to everything you stand for, not because I am a “hypocrite.” Look inside yourselves and realize that Obama is ONE OF YOU–scary isn’t it?

And War Lovers from the “left”–hate me if you will, too, but not because I am a “fanatic” (how can one be a fanatic about non-violence?), hate me because the light I shine back at you exposes your own lack of integrity around these issues–be honest and look deeply inside yourself and see that if it were McCain/Palin or Bush/Cheney bombing the crap out of Libya, you would be furious with me, not at me.

Peace Before Partisan Politics,

Cindy Sheehan

PS: Being against the US and its toadies bombing Libyans DOES NOT mean I am for Qaddafi killing Libyans either (or anyone killing Libyans, or others, for that matter).

PPS: In his own words:
‎”The President does not have power under the Constitution to unilaterally authorize a military attack in a situation that does not involve stopping an actual or imminent threat to the nation.” Barack Obama, Boston Globe, December 20, 2007

Cindy Sheehan

Cindy Sheehan is an American anti-war activist whose son, Specialist Casey Sheehan, was killed during his service in the Iraq War by the Mehdi Army on April 4, 2004. She attracted national and international media attention in August 2005 for her extended anti-war protest at a makeshift camp outside President George W. Bush's Texas ranch — a stand which drew both passionate support and angry criticism. More of her writings can be found at Cindy Sheehan's Soapbox: Writing from the Emprire.

Cindy – you are a kindred spirit. I agree heartily and am also alarmed at the ridiculous attempts to stifle people by labeling them either LEFT or RIGHT – since when can morality be so defined? It is time for the women of the world to come together in protest against the socialized aggression predominent in the powerful men which sentences us and our children to the consequences of war. Women have always been the primary victims of war. All wars are wars against women as we are left to mop up the blood of our babies and deal with the psychopathic behavior created in our men who are “fortunate” enough to survive. Starvation, disease, and mangled children are the spoils of war for women. It is a shame that the thousands of women who suffered to bring us the vote with the full intent of giving us the power to veto war, are forgotten. Token women in politics, who are uncomfortable with their natural instincts as women, are “allowed” to rise to prominance by towing the patriachal line and we are left with figures like Sarak Palin and Hillory Clinton. Good luck and stay brave!

I agree, why aren’t women given the right to veto wars? The United Nations should be reevaluated, Banki Moon (another Harvard “club member”)should be sacked. Going to war should not be left in the hands of a few small brained idiots such as Gates, Obama, Clinton and silly little academics like Samantha Powers. America wants every other country to follow the so-called just war traditions and yet they exempt themselves from it.

Cindy, weren’t you hobnobbing with murdering dictators like Hugo Chavez in the not so distant past? Is not Chavez one of Qadaffi’s biggest supporters? How about your vacations in Cuba with their murderous regime there? How is Castro not like how you describe those you abhore above? Has he not murdered thousands of his own people? Pot meet kettle…

I don’t need to Google you Cindy, you are a hypocrite and your 15 minutes passed a long time ago. You may not believe me, but you are irrelevant.

    Cindy, you have no clue.

Thank you for continuing to show that the radical left is a joke and in no way should be entrusted with running this country or anything else for that matter.

I suggest you move to Venezuela.

    Adios.

    Cindy,
You are the typical Jimmy Carter liberal who doesn’t realize that evil exists and must be confronted.
This does NOT make me a war lover.
It makes me a realist especially since only 43% of the planet enjoys life with freedoms, freedoms I might add that democrats continue their assault on ie obamacare….
    BTW
Freedom is what makes us prosperous (prior to obama & carter). Every country could promote it and raise their people up, but instead you and Carter work to end our freedoms and bring us down.

You and Carter also seem to think that everybody is exactly the same and live by exactly the same morals, standards, etc.

You both live in the most tolerant country in history, but don’t see it because the US isn’t perfect.

The black/white perfection you seek will never exists with flawed man.
The US strives to do and be better, but you and Carter see none of it.

BTW, Iraq has a chance for a better future. Its still uncertain and the cost was high, it always is when evil exists.
    Look at Haiti!

    God bless our troops.

    Ms. Sheehan
Your delusional rhetoric is beyond comprehension. Just as a child enjoys the nearing of Christmas, so too, do you begin to stir around the anniversary of the unfortunate death of your son Casey. You see, it’s a rare moment where you can again begin to exploit the one who cannot speak for himself. As a soldier, Casey knew the risks, and the multitude of accounts confirm how he volunteered for the final mission which took his life.

Your understanding of the geopolitical world in which we live is elementary at best. You claim to act in support of peace and understanding, while respecting the superficial boundaries established by states that murder civilians with abandon. We didn’t declare war on Pakistan, because Pakistan is not the enemy, the murders hiding within the tribal regions are. When a Kentucky patrolman pursues a criminal into Tennessee, has he subsequently asserted his legal authority over the state? Pakistan has had many issues with the Taliban, and while it walks a tenuous path, they too would prefer their eventual removal. (No one message me about the Taliban’s origins, I know).

With this being said, our forces are one of good, I, along with my soldiers, evacuated dozens of civilians, injured not at the hands of marauding US soldiers, but by tribal brutes who care little of who they hurt. I have seen Afghan burn wards, where women practiced self immolation in order to escape a life of brutal subjugation, I have seen children without limbs from roadside bombs that were placed near schools, and I have seen little girls smile when we evaluated them for medical care.

Our bombs in Libya are not raining down on civilians with abandon, they are targeted at the regime who is marching across the desert murdering those who resist. As a soldier we don’t love war, nor do we love being deemed as heartless savages who lack the ability to comprehend our actions. What we do love, is our ability to work with people we would die for, we love our nation, and we love our ability to fight for justice.

Yes there are other tyrants in this world, and likewise we too should one day, with our allies push for their removal. You close your article by stating that simply because you oppose the US bombardment, doesn’t mean you support the dictatorship. Well Ms. Sheehan, silence is compliance, and as Edmund Burke once said: The only thing necessary for evil to triumph is for good men to do nothing.
If you would like to speak to me directly, I would gladly provide my e-mail address.

I’m glad your spewage wasn’t just old fashioned Bush bashing. It is good to protest war so we do not become too fond of it.

Well I suppose now Cindy realizes that the democrats and the news media totally used her to get Obama elected. There was this front that once Obama was in these military actions over seas would come to an end. That the “Bush waring machine” would come to and end and Obama would talk rather than drop bombs. He was even given the peace prize for his new peace approach to the middle east. Then is just all went out the window. Gitmo is back up and running. More troops in Afghanistan, and now we are going into Lybia. I don’t have a problem with this but what I do have a problem with is how the Obama administration was a “no war administration” and now they are. Condemning Bush for this and then turning around and are doing it themselves. Then all the pro Obama people that voted for him did the same thing condemning Bush and now are quiet when bombs drop in Lybia. The media all over how bad war is and now are quiet as well. Now it is like the democrats are the war party not the republicans. Total flip flop. Democrats look like total hypocrites now.

    Cindy, you were screwed over.

    Well done Cindy.

America causes wars, destroys countries and their infrastructure and promptly calls on every other country to foot the bill in rebuilding what Americans destroyed. Why doesnt America pay for your own war rebuilding and pay for every refugee you lot push from their countries? Wake up Americans you drag every other country into your wars so your stupid little leaders can satisfy their giant egos. Your Hillary Clinton is a war crazed maniac, no wonder poor Bill had so many affairs he married a man.

Why dont you Americans stay in your own country for once and fix your poverty levels, fix your country’s bank accounts, fix your health care system, and maybe just maybe the world will start to respect you once again because at the moment, you are war loving trash. Your President only listens to women, crasp women at that, he hides behinds the skirts of women.

    Cindy,

Thanks for writing this letter. I do not know how you deal with the ugliness directed at you but I hope you are not too affected by it. I’m sorry about your son. As a father, you’ve made me think twice about supporting this war.

    Ben
