The ISNA news agency identified the scientist as Daryoush Rezaei, 35, a nuclear expert with links to the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (IAO).

It’s the second slaying of a nuclear scientist in Iran in less than a year.

In November 2010, Majid Shahriari, a physics professor and reportedly also a member of the IAO, was killed in a bomb attack that Iranian officials blamed on the United States and Israel.
