Israel: No Withdrawal To 1967 Borders, Insists Netanyahu
Israeli Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu said tonight that his country will not agree to return to the borders it held before 1967’s War.
In a speech to pro-Israel lobbyists for the American-Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC) in Washington, Netanyahu stressed that such borders are “indefensible”. According to him, he would make this clear in a speech to the U.S. Congress on Tuesday.
“Tomorrow, in Congress, I will describe what a peace between a Palestinian state and the Jewish state could look like,” Netanyahu conveyed.
“But I want to assure you of one thing: It must leave Israel with security, and therefore Israel cannot return to the indefensible 1967 lines.”
