Egypt Sentences Mossad Agent To 25 Years

As Egypt continues to investigate an Israeli spy suspect, Cairo’s supreme state security court sentenced the Egyptian national, Tarek Abdel Razek, on Thursday to 25 years in jail, for working for the Israeli Mossad. In addition, it sentenced in absentia, two Israeli officers to a similar period in jail.

The court, headed by the chief justice, Jamal Al-Din Safwat Rushdie, accused the trio of providing information on Egypt, Syria and Lebanon to the Mossad, Kuna reported.

The prosecutor accused Abdel Razek of involving in hostile acts against Syria and Lebanon which would lead to deteriorating ties between Egypt and these two Arab countries.

Abdel Razek has confessed, during interrogations, that he was recruited by the Mossad. He has admitted meeting with Mossad members in several countries.
