Athletes Upset Olympic Village Has No Pokemon
By MINA
The 2016 Rio Games ‘ Olympic village has already been slammed for its sub-standard facilities, but now athletes have an extra complaint.
It appears that there are no Pokémon available to catch in the area.
While previous complaints about the accommodation for competitors focused on leaking pipes, blocked toilets and exposed wiring, the latest objections have been raised by Pokémon Go players.
Team USA diver Abby Johnston was seemingly happy with the housing itself, but had one major problem, tweeting: “Want to know the worst thing about the Olympic village? No @PokemonGoApp. Otherwise, it’s incredible.”
The Australian team has already refused to house its athletes in the village, deeming the quality of the housing not good enough, but made no mention of Pokémon provision.
Some reports suggest that the village won’t actually be ready in time.
Pokémon Go has taken the world by storm since its release just a few weeks ago.
The augmented reality app encourages people to get out of the house and hunt down the virtual critters in real-world locations.
